Spring Break

I do not think Melanie and I have been so excited about a spring break/reading week in a long time. We have both been going pretty strong for some time now. The Ronald McDonald house has been very busy lately. Which is good we can help, but sad that babies and kids are ill. She has also been working on some creative elements for an upcoming volunteer appreciation dinner. Mt work and school have both ramped up in the past few weeks. I am really feeling the crunch of full time school and full time work. Fortunately, I really enjoy seminary, and I really enjoy my job. I have been given more freedom to develop the web-marketing opportunities for the school. But, we need to get away! We are headed over to Clearwater Beach on Florida's gulf coast for FOUR days. The big plans are to lay out in the sun, swim in the ocean, swim in the pool, find some local eateries, and catch up with each other...(rinse and repeat, for four days). I am reminded the "real world" does not allow for spring breaks. But it is essential to our health to get away to recollect ourselves.

Hard to believe, but we are also trying to plan our summer. Some exciting plans in the works. Also, both our families will be coming to Orlando soon. Melanie's parents and sister, and maybe her brother Joey at some point will be coming in two weekends. Then, my parents and sister Michelle will be there the following week of Easter.

With all the business in our lives, we still really enjoy living in Orlando. We spend a lot of weekend at a lake/park in downtown, Lake Eola. They have a Farmer's Market and craft fair weekly. We usually bring picnic lunch on Sunday and read or people watch.

Last weekend of Feb!

So Feb is coming to an end... which makes me happy for so many reasons.
1.) It is the hardest month in the world to spell. If you had to study my spelling words with me when I was a kid then you would understand.
2.) It means March is here and it is practically spring.
3.)It is actually starting to feel like summer, Brian and I both have sunburns to prove it.
4.)Spring Break!
Brian has been SUPER busy! He just did two conferences back to back. One was here in Orlando and all College age students. It was great! I got to go with him and be a part of it too and we love college students. J.D. Walt was the guest speaker, he is the Dean of the Chapel for Asbury Seminary on the Wilmore campus. So it was fun getting to see some Wilmore faces. Brian and I spent the weekend at a Conference Center just across from Universal Studious talking to College Students and networking with people who will be in our conference soon. It was an encouraging weekend for me and got me excited about being in the FL conference, with some very supportive people. We also got to spend an afternoon at Islands of Adventure, though it just doesn't have the magic of Disney.

Sunday we had to pack up early from the conference so that we could take Brian to the airport for an afternoon flight to Arkansas. He was in Little Rock from Sunday through Thursday doing more recruiting at several different colleges. It was a quick week for both of us and I was so happy to have him back on Friday.

We had beautiful weather this weekend! Friday and Saturday it was in the 80's so we got a couple of pool days in and enjoyed walking around Caribbean beach. Sunday was a little less lovely, the weather was much cooler with an early day storm and lots of wind. We are suppose to have cooler weather until Thursday, then it should warm up again. At any rate we took advantage of our weekend and thought we would share some pictures with you all.

Brian leaves me again on Tuesday to go Flagler College in St.Augustina, though this will be a quick one day trip. He feels a little overwhelmed right now with work, school, and his candidacy process. But I know he can do it!

I am enjoying my job. We have some really good house guest right now, that I have taken time to get to know in the evenings. There situations never cease to amaze me, but I do what I can to be a sensitive ear. For now that's all our new news! We are thinking over plans for Spring Break, though Brian only has two days off... so whatever we do it will be a quick trip! Love to you all!

Valentine's Weekend 2009

So Brian and I had a great Valentine's weekend. My college roommate from the Walt Disney College Program came down vacationing with her husband and three children. Brian and I were able to meet up with them for dinner after not seeing her for eight years! It is hard to believe eight years has gone by since then. We enjoyed dinner at Beaches and Cream and her three children are the cutest prettiest children I believe I have ever seen!

Saturday, V-Day was full of lots of surprises. Brian had been busy planning and scheming. After a late night at the movie theatre, we slept in and then headed to Orlando's famous Lake Eola there we enjoyed a picnic lunch. After lunch we went to The Spa for a couple's massage then had a great dinner at Mimi's Cafe. One of our new favorite restaurants! That night he had made reservations for SAK Comedy Lab. Which was hilarious! They are a small improv theatre that was very entertaining if anyone comes to visit it is a must see kind of a place! We have posted pictures from the weekend. We will keep you posted!
