MLK Weekend

My brother Joey came to town for the weekend. Disney is doing this great deal for military, a free five day park hopper pass. So we went to Disney, of course. We spent Saturday at Hollywood Studious and Magic Kingdom. We were pooped on Sunday so we took the day off from Disney. Then on Monday we headed to Turkey Lake Park on Hiawassee for Brian and my first game of Disc Golf. Joey taught us how to play and we did 18 holes. It was a bit chilly for Orlando. Though it is hard for me to justify complaining about the weather as my friends in KY are all in snow right now, I am ready for the cold spell to end!
Joey headed home yesterday afternoon. Now Brian and I are looking forward to the short work week, so we can get back to our weekend!

Happy New Year! We have now entered 2009... and Brian and I kicked off the week with lots of activities. New Year's Eve we went camping in St.Augustine. While we were there we took a Trolley Tour in downtown, watched the firework's New Year's Eve on the beach, toured the oldest Fort Castillo de San Marcos, window shopped, and ate some fabulous fudge. We returned home and the fun didn't stop. We went to Gatorland here in Orlando the following Saturday, saw some crazy gator wrestling and animal shows, we petted the largest tortoises I have ever seen, and enjoyed walking through the swamp. The following day we headed down to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. There we had our first pool day of the year, yep in January! Gotta love Orlando. We enjoyed laying out in the sun and the swimming in the pool.

All this of course was after a great trip to Dublin, where we spent Christmas with my family. All of us went home this year. It was very nice in GA we spent a couple evenings outside around the campfire enjoying s'mores and catching up with one another. And of course we must have played a trillion board games. We went bowling together after Christmas and had a great time. And we ate way too much! It was a great Christmas and a fun getaway to be with family!

We are now back to a schedule. Brian is actually on "vacation" this week. Though while he is on "vacation" from his job he is busy taking an intensive class. The class is from 9am-5pm everyday, so it is pretty much like he is at work. I am back to working at the Ronald McDonald House evenings, and searching for a day job during the days. This just doesn't seem to be a good time to find a job.

Overall, things are pretty much back to normal for us. We did have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and will be posting pictures very soon! Hope you all also enjoyed your holidays!
