Ichthus Festival

This past weekend was the legendary Ichthus . We heard about it last summer, but didn't get the chance to check it out. Ichthus (which means "Jesus" in Greek) is a three day festival with 4 stages and probably 100+ bands and performers. It is geared primarily to youth groups. They camp out on the Ichthus farm. The tickets are a little pricey but Melanie and I found that we could volunteer a couple hours (9) and get in free. We had an awesome time and got to see some of our favorite bands. We signed up to be Altar Ministers and had the privilege to pray with youth if they responded to the alter call.

On the second day we were walking in the main gate. I could here the music from one of the stages. I thought the lyrics sounded familiar. Then got Melanie to listen and we realized it was none other then Heath McNease. He did VSU theatre with Melanie and graduated about the same time. We had no idea that he would be at the concert. It was great to get to hear him and catch up quickly.

I posted the pictures on our Picasa Album. You can see them if you click the slide show to the right of this blog.

We are exactly one month away from moving to Florida. Melanie and I packed our storage unit and closet up last weekend. This week we will focus on boxing up more stuff. Melanie will kick-off her first theatre camp the week of June 23rd. Then one week off, one more theatre camp, and we skip town for Orlando! Before we know it our little caravan will be traveling south again.
