Happy Valentine's Day

Melanie and I celebrated our fifth Valentine's as a couple yesterday. It's our second as a married couple. I picked Melanie up from the house and we went to her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster. We thought we would try and beat the rush since they were not taking reservations. We got there a few minutes before 5pm and the wait was 30-35 minutes, with a packed out lobby. We also noticed that we were not waiting with other "young adults." That's right, the Johnson dine with the 50+ crowd. (We have noticed this to be a growing trend that we like to eat dinner early.) We were fine with the others in the lobby. They 50+ crowd is a very friendly bunch acutally. As we were leaving the lobby was double the size of when we arrived. I guess most people had to wait till they got off work.

We exchanged gifts when we got home. Melanie has been pretty excited about my gift. She had to hide it at our friends apartment. I thought that was strange, since I could hide mine in ours. I thought, "maybe she thinks that I will search for it since I do work at home all day." However, it turns out that the gift needed food and water! So we welcome the newest addition to the Johnson family..."Jack" the Hermit Crab. (I thought about calling him Dora, since he likes to explore his surroudings, but you cant be called Dora and have a pirate "tatto") Ever since I saw the hermit crab display at the mall I
have wanted to bring one home. Apparently Melanie remember this. And of course, she got me the one with the pirate on the back. Since we are not allowed to have animals in Seminary housing, we decided that Jack would be easly hid if maintenance come by. He is a pretty active guy. We put him on the carpet last night and he was happy to just "crab walk" circles for an hour. Melanie won't touch him, I'm not sure if she thinks its gross or it will pinch her. Probily both. I hope to find him a bigger shell as the guy at the mall said they can get pretty big.
I like easy-low hassle pets. Basically fish. But since we had to leave Pierre the Beta in Georgia, its nice to have someone else around the house during the day.

Another Snowy Monday!!

This past Saturday was our first work day for our set for "A Day in the Moonlight". My amazing husband created and built an awesome S shapes bench for the set. And a 2nd straight bench... While he was busy playing the role of Ty Pennigton. I was busy with my kids cutting 100's of "stones" out of cardborad. I have blisters to prove it. All day I felt a little under the weather. And sure enough Sunday morning brought about a fever and sickness for me. I spent all of Sunday & today in bed. This is the first time this semester I have been sick, so I guess I am doing pretty good compared to my record for fall semester.
This afternoon I was feeling pretty good, so rather than canceling a rehersal I knew we couldn't make up... I headed to the high school. It was bitter cold out, but no sign of snow. About an hour into rehersal the vice prinicple came in the theatre... and while we were completly unaware. (no windows in the theatre) Much to our suprise the ground was covered in a little over an inch of snow.
My 15 minute drive home took 30. The truck in front of me lost control of his vechile several times. I was drvining Brian's explorer and slid back and forth whenever I applied the breaks. It was very scary. So now we are awaiting word to see if school will be cancelled. We are suppose to get another 4 inches before the night is over. Will see, they never seem to be able to predict it quite right! If we have another snow day, are last day of school won't be until June 4th! Crazy, huh!?!
