Brian and I in Virginia Beach for Mitzi's wedding

Today is the last day of September and the weather is beginning to make that evident! It was 58 this morning... that is more like our low in the middle of winter back in Valodsta. :) I have spent the last month being sick. Our neighbor jokes with Brian saying, "Looks like it is time to trade Melanie in for a new model." I got a "cold" the end of August that got better and then worse. After putting off going to the doctor for a month, Brian made me go. He was tired of neither one of us being able to sleep. Those of you that know me, know I have a low immune system and once my stress tolerance level has been reached my body gives way. Sure enough I had Bronchitis, and was given a couple of antibiotics as well as over the counter medicines. A week later I was feeling much better! Then this past week I came down with a stomach virus, pretty irritating as I had to stay close to a toilet, if you get my gist.

During my first illness we made our trip to VA. And for those of you who don 't know flying while your sick is not a good idea. We stayed with our family (Johnson side) and they did a good job of taking car of me and letting me sleep when we arrived. We attended Brian's cousins wedding on the 15Th and had a great time. Mitzi and her now husband Lance were quite entertaining! Lance is a good old GA boy and while Mitzi was born and raised in VA, has definitely fit into GA quite well. She and I laughed about how "you gotta go to GA to find a good spouse".

The past month has been a busy one. I cast my High School production of "Break". To summarize it is a cast of 6 with a similar story line as the "Breakfast Club". Only the action takes place on a subway car that breaks down. My students have a lot of work to do to get ready and not a lot of time, as we open Nov 8Th. They all are hard working and dedicated and I feel they can do it. This week they are off book. In addition to daily rehearsals from 4-6pm, we are doing several fundraisers and regular officers meetings. Last Weds and Thursday I didn't get home until 9:30pm, as I had one drama meeting after the next. My set/lighting designer and I are trying to reconstruct a full size subway onto our stage. The building of it will officially begin on Saturday... so there goes my Saturdays! I love what I do, but it is very tiring. And I do wish I could see Brian more!

As I am sure you have read in his early blog, he is staying busy too. Don't read too much into the sarcasm of his words as he loves all of his classes :) That's my big nerd! That's it for now! God bless you all!
